Pay homage to the sacred "Luang Pho To of Wat Lak Si"
Famous for being the spiritual center of Phaeo villagers.
Luang Pho To, located at Wat Lak Si Rat Samoson, is a Buddha image depicted in the Maravichai posture. It measures 81 inches in lap width and 99 inches in height. The Buddha image is intricately carved from laterite (red sandstone) and covered with cement, following the artistic style of the U Thong period. The face of the Buddha is round and adorned with a gentle smile. The base of the Buddha image, known as the Mauli Buddha, resembles a lotus petal, with a flame at the pointed end. In the middle, it features the Unalom symbol, while the Phra Sok Khoom beads form a pointed tip and a spiral. The arms of the Buddha extend to the chest, showcasing a large, elegant, and proportionate figure. The Buddha image is adorned with gold leaf, portraying a normal form of meditation known as Phra Phlao. The right hand is positioned on the forehead, and the left hand is placed face up on the thigh. This pose is commonly referred to as "defeating Mara, Maravichai." The ancient and sacred Buddha image holds great merit and is highly revered and worshipped by both Chinese and Thai communities in Samut Sakhon Province and neighboring areas. People from various places visit to pay homage and seek blessings from Luang Pho To on a daily basis. Particularly during the annual closing ceremony dedicated to seeking blessings from Luang Pho To, individuals from far and wide gather to participate. The entire body of Luang Pho To is adorned with gold leaf, a testament to the deep faith of Buddhists.
